At Brothers Park in Caldwell, the Idaho Falls High School boys soccer team outlasted Twin Falls 3-2 in overtime on the first day of the 4A soccer state tournament to reach today's semifinals. This is the first time since 2007 that the Tigers have reached the winner's bracket at state soccer.

Spots for the Idaho high school boys and girls soccer state tournaments, which begin Oct. 24 in the Treasure Valley, are on the line for District 6 teams as district tournaments begin this week. The first games start today with the 4A District 6 boys tournament.

Depth and talent was on display last season in 4A District 6, which ended with the Hillcrest boys and Skyline girls claiming district titles.

Fabian Sandoval contributed to a historic inaugural season for the 2018 Thunder Ridge High School boys soccer team which included a 5A District 5-6 championship and a trip to the 5A state tournament.

At the beginning of the season, head coach Corey Toldson asked the members of the first-year Thunder Ridge High School boys soccer team to write down three things on a slip of paper.

The Hillcrest High School boys soccer team — donning black jerseys for Tuesday evening’s 4A District 6 championship game in Ammon — blackened the eye of the Blackfoot Broncos for the third time this fall.

The Idaho Falls High School boys soccer team handed Hillcrest its first tie of the season on Aug. 23, and the Tigers repeated that same outcome Tuesday in their second meeting with the Knights.
