Sugar-Salem's Tanner Harris hands the ball off to Sam Parkinson in Friday's game against American Falls.

Sugar-Salem’s Tanner Harris hands the ball off to Sam Parkinson in last Friday’s game against American Falls.

While upsets across Idaho shook up this week’s football media poll released Tuesday, most local teams stayed in place.

Two that saw the most movement: Madison and Sugar-Salem. Both moved up a spot in this week’s poll.

Madison, previously ranked fifth in 5A, is now tied for fourth following a 31-17 win over Blackfoot.

Sugar-Salem, winners of four-straight, are coming off a 54-6 win over American Falls. The Diggers are now locked in at second-place, a spot under unanimous No. 1 Homedale.

In 4A, Skyline and Hillcrest remain first and fourth, respectively. Skyline (5-0) earned seven first-place votes, as the two teams met this week at Thunder Stadium.

In 2A, North Fremont remains in fourth — locked in the top four spots alongside the other 5-0 programs (Declo, West Side and Grangeville).

Firth received one vote this week, following the Cougars’ 24-8 win over Ririe.

Challis remains at the No. 4 spot in 1A D1 after beating Raft River on the road.

The complete media poll can be viewed below with local teams bolded.
