DUBOIS—Clark County High School will travel to Butte today to participate in a Butte track meet.
The End of the Year Clark County Schools Band Concert will be May 15 at the high school gymnasium at 7 p.m.
The Mud Lake Telephone Co-op’s next meeting will be May 10 at the Dubois Office starting at 7 p.m.
The Lindy Ross Elementary Track and Field Day is scheduled for May 16 at the school commencing at 1 p.m.
The Annual Senior Tea for Clark County High School Graduates will be May 17 at the Dubois Community Baptist Church at 1 p.m.
Lindy Ross elementary students presented a musical Arbor Day program next to the Dubois City Building as led by the school’s music instructor, Michelle Stewart. Mayor Annette Eddins welcomed the students. Maintenance personnel Ace Hensley and Derrell Dickson helped with the planting. Each grade then helped to plant the city’s new tree. The program was ended with treats for all and playtime in the nearby city park.
Dale Ray Wilson recently camped at the lower Medicine Lodge Canyon at the Small ranch. He was in the process of cleaning his camper windows while standing on a bucket, which slipped out from under him causing him to fall and break a leg. After 3 hours, he was able to flag down a passing Clark County Road and Bridge employee, who contacted the Clark County Ambulance who transported him to the Idaho Falls EIRMC hospital. He is still a patient and has undergone extensive leg surgery.
Former Clark County resident, Wallace “Wally” Wagoner passed away May 1, due to a lingering illness at EIRMC. At his request there will be no service.
Birch Creek resident, Scott Bridges, 62, passed away May 2 at his home at the Lone Pine at Birch Creek, due to cancer. His mother Shirley Bridges, in the night attempted to check on him and accidentally fell down. Clark County Sheriff Bart May was requested to drive out and check on them due to no response and found Shirley on the floor and Scott, who had passed away. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Motorist need to be aware of game crossing the roadways along Highway 33, west of Rexburg, and Interstate 15 from Roberts north. Several animals have been killed, and several drivers were lucky to miss them.
Neil and Erin Wood and family recently sold their Dubois home and have since relocated in the Terreton area. Neil will be community to Dubois to care for his business.
George and Bill Thomas and Allene Frederiksen attended the 90th Birthday of Shirley Lee at the Grant LDS Church this past Saturday.
Orvin and Norma Jorgensen returned to their home in Dubois on Sunday after spending several days in Utah with their daughter and family, Wayne and Shari Edwards. While there they enjoyed watching the grandchildren, Ashley and Jacob preform in a local Dance Festival both Friday and Saturday.
Last Sunday’s speakers at the Beaver Creek LDS Church in Dubois included adult speakers, Keith and Alice Tweedie and youth speaker, Landyn Woods.
Dubois Lions Club members Lisa Ward, Lisa Clements and Bonnie Stoddard traveled to Sun Valley this past weekend to participate in the Sun Valley Multiple District Convention. The Lions hosted the Lindy Ross Elementary School Third Grade Lions State Third Grade Patriotism Essay Contest winner, Miguel Garcia of Dubois at the convention. Miguel presented his essay during the Saturday convention noon luncheon along with the other elementary student winners. His family, the Hector Garcia family were also guests at the luncheon.
