Rigby Middle School student, Zachary Hawkes, has been nominated to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference, an Envision program to be held this summer in Washington D.C.

Hawkes was nominated by Middle School teacher Chase Crook, who recognized him as a student with scholastic merit, maturity and strength of character needed to represent Rigby Middle.

Hawkes will be learning about the characteristics of past and present leaders at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History and explore other historical landmarks in, and around Washington D.C.

“Zachary (Hawkes) will learn to become a better leader by setting clear goals, improving communication skills, embracing models for solving complex problems and building effective teams,” Hawkes’ nomination letter states,
